Specify acceptance
Document the batch, full operating cycle, controls, and evidence the proposed system must demonstrate.
Evaluate documented capability, the complete installation, interruption behavior, and service requirements before choosing a solar roasting machine.

State the batch range, available working hours, intended operators, and purpose of the installation. A supervised demonstration has different requirements from a service with delivery commitments. Include preparation, loading, cooling, cleaning, and changeovers in the schedule rather than treating the heating interval as an entire production cycle.
Define acceptance criteria before a supplier demonstration. The trial should establish the requested capability within documented limits, not quietly replace your requirements with whichever feature is most visually impressive. The machine buyer’s field guide provides a complete procurement framework.
Separate the roasting module, collector or electrical supply, controls, positioning equipment, cooling, auxiliaries, installation hardware, and training. Confirm whether the quotation covers a complete working system or a component that needs additional engineering and equipment.
The word “solar” should make the energy arrangement clearer. For an electric roaster, request full electrical requirements. For a direct-thermal system, request collector, receiver, safe operating area, and auxiliary-power requirements. Do not infer package contents from a photograph.
Ask for the intended batch range and a documented record of operating conditions. Identify sensor locations, heat adjustments, operator interventions, cooling, and safe shutdown. Preserve unsuccessful runs and interruptions rather than assessing only a collection of favorable moments.
A result from another site or a different machine configuration may still be informative, but its limitations need to remain visible. Research provides useful system examples, not an automatic specification or commercial warranty for an unrelated product.
Request a layout showing collector movement, service access, exclusion areas, hot-material handling, and storage positions. Have qualified local professionals review the appropriate structural, electrical, ventilation, and fire-safety requirements. A machine’s footprint alone may omit much of the working area.
Identify who provides installation, commissioning, operator training, and warranty service. Ask which parts are serviceable, how replacements are obtained, and what maintenance records are required. Obtain the answers in the actual offer rather than relying on a general marketing statement.
Include required site work, supply equipment, shipping, training, maintenance, and powered auxiliaries. A low roasting-module price may not describe the cost of a usable installation. Keep uncertain future expenses and throughput assumptions visible rather than turning them into an exact payback date.
This guide does not claim current stock, quote equipment prices, or endorse a manufacturer. Its purpose is to make the purchasing questions specific enough that a supplier’s evidence can answer them. Use the roasting basics guide to prepare a consistent batch log before evaluating the next demonstration.
Use the original documentation to check context and limitations before applying a claim to a specific installation.
Document the batch, full operating cycle, controls, and evidence the proposed system must demonstrate.
Include collection or supply equipment, installation, cooling, training, and required site work.
Confirm documentation, service coverage, replacement parts, and the responsibilities in the actual offer.
Two useful distinctions for this part of the solar plan.
Ask for documented capability, a complete system price, relevant demonstrations, and a practical service plan.
Follow the heat path, log your process, and include cooling and auxiliary power in a realistic roasting trial.
Plan airflow, safe cleaning, maintenance records, and hot-day shutdown rules before the first interruption.
